Sustainability and social commitment at Gharieni

Sustainability and social commitment has been a high priority for us as a company from the wellness and health sector for many years. In order to make our production and logistics more sustainable, we have invested a lot in recent years to reduce our carbon footprint.

Plant my tree

Since 2007, PLANT-MY-TREE® has been carrying out reforestation projects for CO² compensation throughout Germany. The goal is environmental and climate protection.
PLANT-MY-TREE® has also been carrying out forest conversion and forest protection projects in addition to initial afforestation, and attaches great importance to a high level of biodiversity. Here, regional conditions are taken into account and, if possible, mixed forests are planted. Over decades, this creates a natural habitat for insects and animals.
PLANT-MY-TREE® was successfully certified according to DIN ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV Rheinland at the beginning of 2020.

Solar powered system

In order to supply our vehicles as well as our production with sufficient green electricity, we use large-scale solar systems in several locations.

Electric vehicles

We have been converting our company fleet to electric vehicles since 2020. The share of electric vehicles in our company is already over 60%. Further vehicles will be exchanged for electric vehicles in the future in order to further increase the electric share of our vehicles.

Charging stations

We offer our employees and our customers, a free charging station for electric vehicles. Our locations in Moers and in the Netherlands are already equipped with fast charging stations. Further locations will follow.

Production with 100% green electricity

Electricity for our production that we cannot generate ourselves must be purchased from our local electricity supplier. This is done with 100% green electricity from renewable sources.

Climate neutral shipping
We work to a large extent with the logistics providers DPD and UPS. Both providers work in a climate-neutral way.
For more than 15 years, we have been working together with the Caritas factories in Moers, Germany, which offer training and employment opportunities to people with mental and physical disabilities. We obtain e.g. packaging materials or electrical components from the charitable factories.
